Ginkgo Biloba
- Recent research into the plant has discovered a range of medicinally active compounds in the leaves and this has excited a lot of interest in the health-promoting potential of the plant. In particular, the leaves stimulate the blood circulation and have a tonic effect on the brain, reducing lethargy, improving memory and giving an improved sense of well-being. They have also been shown to be effective in improving peripheral arterial circulation and in treating hearing disorders such as tinnitus where these result from poor circulation or damage by free radicals. The leaves contain ginkgolides, these are compounds that are unknown in any other plant species. Ginkgolides inhibit allergic responses and so are of use in treating disorders such as asthma. Eye disorders and senility have also responded to treatment.

Ginseng - Ginseng is an "adaptogen," an agent that helps the body adjust to stress. Scientists believe it helps prevent "adrenal burnout" caused by ongoing physical or mental challenges. Ginseng boosts concentration and focus without the letdown than comes from drinking coffee or other sources of caffeine. Ginseng also boosts immunity. Healthy people taking Ginseng have been shown to have increased numbers of the immune cells (CD4+ cells) that have decrease during HIV-infection and AIDS. Ginseng may also enhance athletic performance. Ginseng was a favorite of trainers and coaches of Olympic athletes in the old Soviet Union. When the word about Ginseng got out, Western scientists put it to the test. A study of six baseball players found that taking Ginseng for 8 days increased breathing capacity. That is, Ginseng gave the players more wind to sprint between bases. In another clinical test, scientists in Australia found that men (and women) who took Ginseng 8 weeks had 13% strength gains in the pectoral muscles and 15% in the biceps. And a company in New Jersey found that taking Ginseng for 8 weeks increased the bodyÍs ability to burn fat through exercise by about 43%.

Elder Berries - Extremely rich in organic Potassium. Native Americans used the flowers, berries, and bark of elderberry trees to treat fevers and joint pain for hundreds of years, but elderberryÍs real claim to fame is as a cure for the flu. Extensive research show that elder stop the production of hormone-like cytokines that direct a class of white blood cells known as neutrophils to cause inflammation, especially in influenza and arthritis. On the other hand, elder increases the production non-inflammatory infection-fighting cytokines as much as 10 fold.
Elder berries are known to be effective against eight strains of influenza. This suggests that elder be superior to vaccines in preventing flu, because flu vaccines are only effective against known strains of flu, whereas the virus is continually mutating to new strains. Vaccines have another draw back: over half of people who get them report side effects. Dr. Madeleine Mumcuoglu, of Hadassah-Hebrew University in Israel found that elderberry disarms the enzyme viruses use to penetrate healthy cells in the lining of the nose and throat. Taken before infection, it prevents infection. Taken after infection, it prevents spread of the virus through the respiratory tract. In a clinical trial, 20% of study subjects reported significant improvement within 24 hours, 70% by 48 hours, and 90% claimed complete cure in three days. In contrast, subjects receiving the placebo required 6 days to recover.

Alfalfa - Alfalfa contains high amounts of the organic minerals of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, plus all the known vitamins including Vitamin K. Alfalfa provides beta-carotene and vitamins C, E, and K. If you answer no to the question "Got milk" you should answer yes to the question "Got alfalfa". Alfalfa is one of the best natural sources of vitamin K. This nutrient helps blood to clot by moving calcium into proteins that form a microscopic net to capture red blood cells. Vitamin K likewise helps bones to knit by working with vitamin D and glutamic acid to activate osteocalcin. The combination of these three nutrients is essential to building good bone. Your body can't use calcium without it. Alfalfa helps keep calcium in bones

Nettle leaf - nettle leaf has been used as a hair and scalp treatment for centuries, and again, those uses are being supported by research as well. Nettle leaf extract seems to promote hair regrowth and thicken hair, as well as reducing dandruff and scalp conditions when used as a rinse. Nettle leaf's effectiveness against rheumatism and other inflammatory diseases is well documented, and borne out by chemical analysis of the plant.  Nettles are fantastically high in vitamins A and C, and rich in nutrients, including calcium, choline, magnesium, boron, iron, iodine, silica, sulfur, potassium, chlorophyll, histamine, serotonin, glucoquinones, bioflavonoids, tannins and amino acids. They're unusually high in protein (40%) for a plant. And because they're so nutrient-dense, they make a good overall tonic for strengthening the body. Useful in treating anemia, their high vitamin C content helps ensure that the iron is properly absorbed by the body.

Horstail - As explained in the book "Biological Transmutations" the silica in horse tail grass converts to calcium. Some experts have suggested the element silicon in Horsetail is also a vital component for bone and cartilage formation. The plant's stems are rich in silica and silicic acids, which help mend broken bones and form collagen, an important protein found in connective tissue, skin, bone, cartilage, and ligaments. Therefore, Horsetail is used as a supplement to treat and prevent osteoporosis. More recently, it has been studied for its possible usefulness in connection with arthritis, osteoporosis, and other conditions of bones and cartilage.

Roships - Rose hips develop on wild roses as the flowers drop off. The rose hip, also called the rose haw, is actually the fruit of the rose. They are one of the most concentrated sources of vitamin C available. In addition to C, rose hips also contain A, D and E, as well as antioxidant flavonoids that may reduce the effects of aging and help prevent cancer. All this is wrapped up in the tart-sweet taste of the miniature fruits. They can be used to make jelly, jam, soup or oil. During World War II, the British government used collected rose hips to make rose hip syrup as a source of vitamin C to replace citrus fruits that were impossible to get. Rosehips also contain flavonoids, lycopen & iron. The iron in rose hips make them an excellent supplement and rose hip tea is a rich source of vitamin C, carrying all the benefits of that vitamin. In addition, the various flavonoids in rose hips have potent antioxidant action, helping to protect the body from the effects of stress, aging and the environment.

Goji Berries - One of the most nutritious fruits on earth.  Grown in Tibet & China at high altitudes in nutrient dense soils, these delectable, vibrant red berries are known for their health and longevity bestowing virtues. Scientifivally known as Lycium barbarum and commonly known as Goji berry, wolfberry or lycium fruit. Known in the far east as Gou qi zi. The Goji berry packs an unbeleivable amount of nutirion into such a small package. They contains an amazing 18 amino acids, including all 8 essential amino acids. They contain 12% protein, contain 21 trace minerals (including iron,  zinc, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium, and phosphorus) and have the richest source of carotenoids of all known foods on the planet! Goji berries also contain vitamins B1, B2, B6, and vitamin E.
